Ugh...I'm already tired of today. We've been redlining all morning (I know--you don't know what that means--just know that it's not fun) Some of these people are just so stupid!! They think if they explain everything three more times, and slower, that I will NOW be able to help them. "No, sir--I cannnot help you with your Dish Network bill. Like I have said manytimes, this is the AT&T Internet Rebate Center. No, I do not have the number for Dish network. No, I do not know where you could find it. What? Excuse me? No sir, I am not incompetent. I work for AT&T - NOT Dish Network. I don't even know how or where you got this number to call. You need to call Dish. No I will not look up the number online for you. Okay fine--you do whatever you feel is necessary. I'm going to disconnect the call now. Thank you for calling AT&T. You have a great day." People are so rude!! And ridiculous!! You wouldn't believe some of the things these people want me to do!! You wouldn't believe some of the things they say to me!! I am just astounded everyday. You think you've heard the most rude, ridiculous thing ever and then five minutes later, someone proves you wrong.

Whatever. I want to go home...

Wow....so much has happened in just the past week....

My mom and I got into a huge fight over the phone a little over a week ago. For those of you who actually know me (or my mom), it was about the same old stuff. She kept talking and talking and I was going to be late for work, so eventually I said  --Hey, I have to go. I'm going to be late for work.--  "Of course! You always have to go! You can never finish a conversation with me!"  --No, mom, I really have to go - I have to go to work. I have a JOB.--  ''Don't you get a little attitude with me! That's it! I've had it! You've got four weeks."  --What?For weeks for what?--  "You have four weeks to get the car in your name and move out. If you're gonna have an attitude like that, then you can move out and make it on your own!" --What? I move out TWO YEARS AGO! Are you serious? I've been making it on my own for quite some time now.-- And that was that.

So now I've moved out of my grandparents' house (I don't know why my mom thought she could kick me out of their house--especially since I was paying rent) even though I didn't technically have to. I now live in Provo with a friend from work, Michelle. It's really cool so far. She's so funny. Life is....great, I guess. Provo is better for me anyway. Work is pretty much the same distance away, but school is closer and so is McKay. I'm already saving when it comes to gas. It's sweet.

I got to go with McKay the other day to finish laying down his bass tracks for Volition's new album. Austin and Kace were there, so we all had fun watching McKay. After McKay finished recording, we all sat and helped decided to put an 808 here and record and place another riff there--it was cool to see how it all kinda works.

After that McKay and I went to Park City to get tickets to a few of the Sundance Festival movies. We must have good taste because all of the movies went tried to get tickets to had a waiting list. After much deliberation and searhing the charts we found a few and went to get the tickets. Upon reaching the counter, the lady there asked us if we were there to get tickets to the Best Of Fest. What? The Best Of Fest? She explained to us that the best of fest was held on the last day of the festival. It shows the best documentary and the best drama (the best film in each category). A few years ago, she said, the best documentary was Supersize Me, and the best drama was Napoleon Dynamite. She then informed us that the tickets were free!! So we got two free tickets to both and skipped merrily home. I'm excited! This will be my first year going to the Sundance Festival, and I'll be seeing the two best movies submitted!! Yay!!

Well, my NYE was awesome. I went to the Utah Parties show/dance at the McKay Events Center. Let me just tell you how awesome it was:

There were three dance floors--one was Hip Hop/R&B (that was the "main" dance floor), another was 80's music, and the third was country line dancing---hahahhaha. Utah Parties hired a bunch of Pro BMXers and skaters to do an all night show on an indoor skate park--neato. There were also stand up comedians, a magician, and a hypnotist doing their thing. There was a Love Sac "chill lounge" where a bunch of guys and reluctant girlfriends sat and played XBox and Nintendo and whatever else was there (didn't look close enough). The best part, though, was the 2nd floor where all the live music was. HolloH, Side Dish, Ayin, Volition, Elliott's Assassin, and some other band (don't remember 'em...that's kinda sad....it was supposed to be Rated Hero, but got changed at the last minute for some reason.)

I was on the 2nd floor most of the night watching the bands. HolloH played a good set. I think they were pissed about something though. We all got the vibe that they didn't really want to be there for some reason. I don't know why....Maybe because they had to play first? Or maybe because sound took a while to get set up and they didn't get to play as long as they wanted to...?? I don't know..... They left after their set--so no one saw them for the rest of the night.

After HolloH was Side Dish. They were, as always, really good. The bassist, Jeph, had a hurt knee (he tore a few ligaments on Thanksgiving) so he couldn't do his usual jumping around the stage, so it was definitely different. He sat on a stool for the first part of the show. Then he started getting antsy, so he stood up and did his thing as usual, only on one foot. Hahaha. Bless his heart--I love that guy.

Next was Ayin, whom I had never heard live before. (I heard their CD because McKay is a huge fan and friend of theirs...) They were awesome. I loved their show. Their drummer kicks royal butt, as does the bassist. Skaught (the singer--he's actually the guy who's recording Volition's album right now) has an amazing voice. I loved the show. It was great all-around. They officially have a new fan.

After Ayin was the NYE countdown on the main dance floor--that was followed by lots of kissing (McKay helped me out with that--thank you, McKay...tee hee....) Then we had to hurry back up to the second floor so McKay could set up for his show. Volition got the best slot--right after midnight. The DJ on the main floor announced that Volition was playing and threw out some free shirts to the crowd to get them pumped. So Volition played one of the best shows I've heard from them. The crowd was HUGE and going wild. Their crowd was so big. The next biggest audience was probably less than half that size. It was so cool. They were loud, too. The whole thing just rocked. I wish those of you who weren't there, could have been. You would have loved it.

Anyway, after Volition's set, Elliott's Assassin played. They started off their show with one of their newest songs. Apparently they've decided to take a little heavier approach with their music, which no one's complaining about. Each of the guys is a great musician and I'm excited to see how they evolve and grow as a band. I didn't get to stay for all of their set, though, because McKay and I were SOOOOO hungry. Neither of us had eaten all night, so we left and went to Denny's.

I got to McKay's house afterward and we both decided that it would be better if I didn't attempt the long drive home, so I made myself at home on his couch.

I woke up to McKay and his brother sitting on either side of me watching football. When I woke up, they wished me a happy new year and we all watched football for the rest of the day. It was awesome.

Saturday - Totally icky...at first.....I went to work at nine and was supposed to get off at three. If you're going to get off at three, they usually cut you (take you off the floor--don't seat people in your section) about 2:30 or 2:45 ish so you can get your sidework (cleaning/stocking the server alley) done by three. If they cut you at your off time, then your sidework will keep you after for up to an hour sometimes. Well--it would have sucked if they had cut me at three. But they didn't. It would have sucked worse if they had cut me at three thirty. But, again, they didn't. The definitely cut me at 4:15. I was so pissed. Grr. So I got out of there at about 5 and passed Jackson on the overpass. We both stopped in the WalMart parking lot and decided to go out. We went to Abercrombie and got each others' Christmas presents (I got him Fierce and he got me 8 (cologne and perfume)- or "Ocho" as I like to call it). After that, we went to Borders and read books while lounging in chairs. THEN we went to Macaroni Grill and ate dinner and desert. I love how they have paper table cloths and the servers write their name on it--UPSIDE DOWN!!! Remember that game, MASH, that we all used to play in elementary school? You know--the one where you pick three husbands, your house, your kids, etc, and then rotate and cross them off and then it tells you who you'll marry and all that. Well, we played that game on the table cloth. It was fun. After dinner we went to see a movie. So yeah--I had a crappy day, but the night was pretty awesome.

Sunday - McKay flew back home from Arizona Sunday. I was supposed to work, but I got it off so I could go with Derek (his brother) to pick him up. When we got to the airport, I called his cell and was like, --Hey hun. Have you landed?--  "Yeah - we just got off the plane."  --Sweet. I wish I could be there to pick you up, but I have to work. I'm on my way right now, actually.--  "That's okay. I understand."  --So how was AZ? And your flight?--  "Oh it was good..." and we continued talking. While we were talking, I mouthed to Derek to call McKay, so he did.  "Oh hey--I have to go. My brother's calling me."  --Alright. I'll call you tonight when I get off work.--  So then he started talking to Derek and I went into the airport. I saw him looking out the window trying to find Derek and the car. It wasn't until I was just a few feet away that he realized it was me.  --Surprize!!--  "Wha....?"  It was funny. We went to his sister's house and visited her and "the grandkids" (that's what they call Rachael's kids) for a few hours and then went home.

Yesterday - HORRIBLE morning. I was supposed to be to work at six, but I totally forgot because it wasn't on my schedule because I agreed pick up that shift for Debbie. So my boss calls me at like 7:30 and is like, "Uhhh, are you coming to work?"  --What? No. Why would I--OH MY GOSH!! I am SO sorry. I'm on my way.--  So I threw my work clothes on and sped off to work. I got there and finally realized that I was not feeling well at all. (I didn't realize this through the rush of the morning...) So that sucked. Then my contact was bugging the crap out of me, so I was blinking a LOT and accidentally blinked my contact out. So I went through the rest of the day with only one contact in. I had to help open the restaurant, which I am not trained to do, and then deal with the morning rush with only one other server. I was going nuts. I would get like six tables at a time--I was hating life. Ick. I made awesome tips, though, so I bought McKay's mom and brother's presents after work. From there I went to school all night and then went home and watched Monster before going to bed. Ugh.

Today was okay, I guess. It was one of those days where you don't really care about anything. Not the pissed off don't care though--it was the happy-go-lucky don't care. We were really slow, so I didn't have many tables at all. Normally, that would be upsetting because no tables means no tips which, in turn, means no money. Today I didn't care though. Corinne and I joked around and goofed off in the server alley all day. If it weren't for her, today would have been SO boring. Plus I had a few really cool/nice tables (people--sheesh.....I call customers tables.....because they sit at a table.....and we, in the back of the house, refer to them as the number of the table they are sitting at....oh nevermind--you'll never understand...) And now I'm here--at school doing nothing because my instructor ran out of things to teach for today. Wahoo.

I get to go see McKay tonight after school, though. The night will end nicely, I think...
